Zvi Suchet is a fine art photographer based in Cape Town, South Africa. His career began at the age of 12, when he published his first book – a collection of philatelic photography of stamps depicting ancient Jewish coins – which was inducted into the Smithsonian permanent collection. Over the years, Zvi has worked in a wide range of photographic disciplines – wildlife, landscape, aerial, street photography, fashion and hollywood portraiture – winning awards for each and being published in over 35 books, under his english name - Marc Hoberman. During his years as the official photographer for both Elton John’s AIDS Foundation and BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) he has photographed portraiture of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Woody Allen, Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep and Natalie Portman. In 2019, Zvi followed his life-long dream – to produce a fine art collection of Jewish-inspired imagery.
“I have always been fascinated with the visceral visual imagery of Judaism – both in real-world Jewish culture as well as my constant visual imagining of the Talmud – something that was sparked at childhood and continues to this day. I realised that through my photography and digital illustration I could bring my imagination to life to share with the world.”
